Feature Article

This weekend we are celebrating the 31st Annual Rites of Spring Tournament. There are over 20 teams competing again this year. Please come out and show your support for the club. This is Baltimore's premier rugby event of the year. You will not want to miss it!!

We also want to thank the Yeomen for coming down and playing two great competitive games. We were very pleased with the Old Boys in attendance. It was great to see everyone come together to revive a tradition that we hope to continue for years to come.

Special thanks to Wade for organizing this event. The club owes you a great deal for everything that you do.

Coaches Corner

Youth rugby
BC players and old boys currently participate and run several youth rugby teams in the surrounding Baltimore area. Now we are ready to start a team in the city.

We seem to have enough kids and coaches for us to fill our commitment to the city to get youth rugby (Under 15's, 13’s, 11’s, co-ed, touch) started at our home field this summer. Baltimore Chesapeake Rugby team member Danny Cohen and Jeff Brotman are on board as coaches.

We want to work in conjunction with the other programs, which includes the Under 19's tackle male and female (separate) teams. We can take all the help we can get and advice to make this work smoothly together. Matches go from June 21 every weekend until the tournament Aug 2, home and away. Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00. Parents need to be involved. We are going to host an organizational meeting for all interested parties at the brick PAL building in front of our home field on May 19 at 6:30 PM.

Old Boys

  • April 19th, the Old Boys were able to foot the bill for our 40 visiting Canadian Yeomen Rugby Club friends to that Saturday night O’s/Yankees game as part of being a good host because of financial support, like the $100 dues some of you are coming up with and the generous $1000 contribution from BC alum Dave Brendel, www.brendalrestoration.com “You do a great job for the club Wade...I hope they all appreciate it.”

  • Make sure you check out the ramblings of an old boy regarding the Yeomen and other rugby related stuff - good stuff John...

  • Next Old Boys match - The Atlantic Cup, August 16-17, Dewey Beach, Delaware

  • New BC t-shirts have arrived. Please see Wade or Jim Hale
    $15 for current BC players
    $20 for non-players

An old boy from the Cincinnati Wolfhounds has asked us to spread the word about a new product he has developed called Energized SumSeeds - the largest premium sunflower seeds roasted and infused with caffeine, taurine, lysine and ginseng to create a true energy seed. Each bag contains over 2x the energy components than a Red Bull or similar energy drink. We'll have some available for the Rites of Spring Tournament. Here is their website: www.sumseeds.com
